Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Plot

After the battle in Metropolis, billionaire Bruce Wayne believes Superman poses a threat to humanity. As a result, he decides to take up the mantle of Batman and defeat him once and for all.

Lex Luthor, the film’s criminal mastermind, manipulates Batman into a preemptive battle with Superman, whom Luthor is obsessed with.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Narrative

Bruce Wayne flees his parents’ funeral in a flashback to his childhood. He falls into a cave and is lifted back to the surface by a circling vortex of bats. Back in the present, eighteen months after the battle in Metropolis between Superman and General Zod, Superman has become a divisive figure. Bruce is now a billionaire who has been operating as the vigilante Batman in Gotham City for the past twenty years.

Bruce attends a LexCorp gala in order to steal encrypted data from the company’s mainframe, but antiquities dealer Diana Prince steals it from him and returns it after she is unable to access the information. He dreams of a post-apocalyptic world in which he leads rebels against an evil Superman while decrypting the drive. An alarm wakes him up.

The decrypted drive reveals Luthor’s files on various metahumans all over the world. Diana, who appears in a World War I photograph, is one of them. Wayne informs Alfred Pennyworth that he intends to steal and weaponize kryptonite in order to defeat Superman.
