Captain America: The Winter Soldier Plot

As Steve Rogers adjusts to the complexities of modern life, he joins Natasha Romanoff and Sam Wilson on a mission to discover the identity of a deadly, mysterious assassin.

Captain America teams up with Black Widow and Falcon to uncover a conspiracy within the spy agency S.H.I.E.L.D. while facing a mysterious assassin known as the Winter Soldier in the film.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier Narrative

Two years after the Battle of New York, Steve Rogers works for the espionage agency S.H.I.E.L.D. in Washington, D.C., while adjusting to modern society. During a mission to free hostages aboard a S.H.I.E.L.D. vessel from pirates led by Georges Batroc with Agent Natasha Romanoff and S.H.I.E.L.D.’s counter-terrorism S.T.R.I.K.E. team led by Agent Brock Rumlow, Rogers discovers Romanoff has another agenda: to extract data from the ship’s computers.

Returning to the Triskelion, S.H.I.E.L.D.’s headquarters, Rogers confronts Director Nick Fury and is briefed on Project Insight: three helicarriers linked to spy satellites designed to eliminate threats before they occur. Fury becomes suspicious of Insight after failing to decrypt Romanoff’s data and requests that senior S.H.I.E.L.D. official and Secretary of Internal Security Alexander Pierce postpone the project.

Fury is ambushed by assailants led by an assassin known as the Winter Soldier on his way to meet Maria Hill. He escapes to Rogers’ apartment and warns him that S.H.I.E.L.D. is under attack, but is wounded by the Winter Soldier before handing Rogers a flash drive containing the ship’s data. During surgery, Fury is pronounced dead, and Hill recovers his body. Pierce summons Rogers to the Triskelion the following day.
