Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Plot

Agent Phil Coulson leads a team of highly skilled agents from the global law-enforcement organization S.H.I.E.L.D. They collaborate to combat unusual and inexplicable threats.

The first season follows S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Phil Coulson as he puts together a small team of agents to handle unusual new cases.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Narrative

The team sets out to find Chan Ho Yin, a Chinese street performer with pyrokinetic abilities, after being kidnapped by Project Centipede recruiter Raina. Before harvesting his blood platelets for further research, Raina injects him with Extremis to increase his strength. Skye knows a hacker who may have leaked information about Chan’s whereabouts and abilities, and she sleeps with him in secret to find out the truth.

Because she doesn’t trust Skye, May tracks them down and arrests them. S.H.I.E.L.D. attacks the Centipede facility and tries to help Chan, but he refuses, and May kills him with the unstable Extremis within him. Skye responds to Coulson’s questions, revealing that she joined the Rising Tide and S.H.I.E.L.D in order to track down her parents. Coulson agrees to help her, but only if she agrees to use a device that prevents her from using a computer. Raina pays Centipede member Po a visit in prison, instructing him to report the results of the experiment to the “Clairvoyant.”

The team investigates a series of deaths involving electrostatic anomalies and levitation. The cause of the deaths has been determined to be an alien virus from a Chitauri helmet salvaged from the Battle of New York, despite the team’s initial assumption that the deaths were caused by a weapon. When Simmons contracts the deadly virus, she and Fitz work feverishly to find a cure, while Coulson defies Agent Blake’s direct order to sacrifice Simmons in order to save the rest of the team.
