Amazing Stories Narrative

Sam and his brother Jake Taylor work in development and devote their time to researching old houses in order to redesign them for new owners. Sam, on the other hand, isn’t particularly fond of work, preferring to go out on dates rather than put in a full day’s effort.

One day, while the Taylors are touring one of their homes, Sam discovers an old box containing an old sepia photograph of a lovely lady in a wedding gown. A tempest is brewing, so Sam and Jake barricade the house. However, when Sam goes into the storm cellar and notices the pressure indicator going off the scale, he becomes concerned.

The Cellar is the pilot scene of Amazing Stories, and it may be a good indication of the series’ style and tone, giving the audience a taste of what’s to come. Regrettably, it appears that the story hasn’t been given enough time (no quip intended) to run its course, or that the story hasn’t been given enough time to make a big deal about an effect.
