Attack on Titan Plot

After his hometown is destroyed and his mother is murdered, young Eren Jaeger vows to rid the world of the giant humanoid Titans who have driven humanity to extinction.

The plot of Attack on Titan revolves around a civilization within three walls, the last place where humans still live. Over a century ago, the emergence of humanoid giants known as Titans, who attack and eat humans on sight, drove humanity to the brink of extinction.

Attack on Titan Narrative

For more than a century, humans have lived in settlements surrounded by three 50m-tall walls, Wall Maria, Wall Rose, and Wall Sina, which keep Titans, giant humanoid creatures that eat humans, out. Eren Jaeger, from the Shiganshina District, wants to see the outside world by joining the Scout Regiment because he compares city life to livestock.

Regardless, his friend Mikasa Ackermann and their mother Carla Jaeger are opposed to him joining the Scouts. Even after witnessing the Scouts’ return home with heavy casualties, Eren expresses his desire to join, which impresses his father Grisha Jaeger, who promises to show him what lies in their basement once he returns. Following Eren and Mikasa’s rescue of their friend Armin Arlert from a gang of delinquents, the Colossal Titan, a 60m Titan, appears and knocks down the gate to the Shiganshina District, which lies on the outskirts of Wall Maria, allowing smaller Titans to enter.

As the town devolves into chaos, Eren and Mikasa rush back to their home, only to discover Carla pinned beneath their collapsed structure. Carla begs them to flee as a Smiling Titan approaches, but they refuse until city guard Hannes arrives and assures them that he will defend them. However, as he charges towards the Titan, he succumbs to fear and abducts Eren and Mikasa. Eren looks on in horror as a Smiling Titan devours Carla.
