Walter White, a chemistry teacher, discovers he has cancer and decides to start a meth lab to pay off his medical bills. When he joins forces with Jesse, his priorities shift.
Breaking Bad is set in Albuquerque, New Mexico, between 2008 and 2010, and follows Walter White, a meek high school chemistry teacher who transforms into a ruthless player in the local methamphetamine drug trade after being diagnosed with terminal lung cancer.
Breaking Bad Narrative
Walter White, a 50-year-old high school chemistry teacher going through a midlife crisis, learns he has Stage 3 inoperable lung cancer. He joins his brother-in-law, DEA agent Hank Schrader, on a raid on a methamphetamine lab, where they apprehend Emilio, a cook/dealer. Jesse Pinkman, Walt’s former student-turned-meth cook/dealer, escapes the raid.
Walt realizes he can use his chemistry knowledge to cook meth and provide for his family after he dies. He enlists Jesse’s assistance, and they start cooking in Jesse’s RV in a remote area of the desert. They produce crystal meth that is pure and unadulterated. Jesse attempts to sell the meth they created, and one of the buyers is his ex-partner Emilio, who forces Jesse to show them the lab.
Walt and Jesse attempt to dispose of the two bodies in the RV, which becomes more difficult when one of them, Krazy-8, awakens and flees. Walt finds him walking down the street, barely conscious, and puts him in his car. They eventually lock him up in Jesse’s basement. Meanwhile, Skyler is growing increasingly suspicious of Walter’s recent behavior, and they learn that they are expecting a daughter.
