Gotham Plot

Detective James Gordon is a new recruit who has been assigned to look into the murders of Thomas and Martha Wayne. The case introduces him to the slain couple’s son, Bruce, a future crusader.

The show is a crime drama that delves into the origins of eventual Gotham City Police Department (GCPD) Commissioner James Gordon and the rogues’ gallery of villains who made Gotham City famous.

Gotham Narrative

James Gordon, a rookie detective, and his partner Harvey Bullock are assigned to the case of the murders of Thomas and Martha Wayne, which were witnessed by petty street criminal Selina Kyle. Their investigation leads them to a parolee named Mario Pepper, whom Bullock murders to protect Gordon. They discover Pepper was framed, which leads them to mobster Fish Mooney, an associate of Carmine Falcone, an organized crime boss.

Mooney has them apprehended, but Falcone releases them upon his arrival, revealing that he intended to end the case so that the citizens of Gotham could feel safe, thereby facilitating his illegal activities. In exchange, Falcone instructs Gordon to assassinate Oswald Cobblepot, a low-level member of Mooney’s gang and an informant for Gotham Major Crimes Unit (MCU) investigators Renee Montoya and Crispus Allen.

Gordon and Bullock begin looking into the kidnappings of street kids by Patti and Doug, operatives for Dr. Francis Dulmacher, A.K.A. the Dollmaker, who have been posing as members of the Mayor’s Homeless Outreach Program. Mayor Aubrey James announces plans to help Gotham’s homeless children by rounding them up and transporting them away from the city. Patti and Doug kidnap one of the street kids’ buses, which includes Selina.
