Inventing Anna Narrative

Vivian’s story progresses slowly but steadily in the months that follow; she meets Anna’s friends, associates, work partners, and fellow socialites, who gave their accounts for or against Anna. What follows is a character revelation of Anna and how she was able to fool some of New York’s most astute and astute business people.

Anna was charged with ten counts of first, second, and third-degree larceny, including attempting to steal property from City National Bank worth more than $1 million, stealing property from City National Bank worth more than $50,000, stealing property from Rachel Williams (who eventually turned her in), and more.

The real ‘Anna Sorokina’ news story is just a setup for ‘Inventing Anna,’ which unfortunately fails to engage the audience. On closer examination, it betrays Anna as the protagonist in an attempt to heroize Vivian’s character, which detracts significantly from the series. Despite her best efforts, Vivian remained a shady journalist who was more concerned with redeeming her career for a previous mishap than with actually writing a probing and engrossing story.
