A thriller about a family on vacation in the tropics who discover that the secluded beach where they are relaxing for a few hours is causing them to age rapidly, compressing their entire lives into a single day.

Old Plot

Guy and Prisca Cappa, a married couple, take their young children Maddox and Trent to a tropical resort as their final family vacation before divorcing. The family visits a secluded beach recommended by the resort’s manager, which is also occupied by three other parties: rapper Mid-Sized Sedan and a female companion; surgeon Charles, his wife Chrystal, their young daughter Kara, and Charles’s mother Agnes; and Jarin and Patricia Carmichael, a close-knit husband and wife.

When the drowned body of Mid-Sized Sedan’s companion is discovered, tragedy strikes the group’s vacation, and Agnes dies unexpectedly. Strange things begin to happen, including the three children reaching the age of adolescence. The group realizes that the beach is rapidly aging them, with a year’s worth of growth passing every 30 minutes. They also learn that at least one member of each family suffers from an underlying medical condition and that attempting to flee will result in them blacking out and waking up on the beach.

Another tragedy occurs when a bond between the maturing Kara and Trent leads to Kara giving birth quickly, only for the baby to die as a result of the beach’s effects. Trent and Maddox discover the notebook of a previous traveler, as well as indications that they are being watched, among the group attempting to flee the beach. When Charles’s worsening schizophrenia causes him to kill Mid-Sized Sedan, the attempts to flee become more tense.

Jarin drowns and Kara falls to her death as they search for a way out, while Patricia and Chrystal perish as their epilepsy and hypocalcemia worsen. In a schizophrenic episode, Charles eventually attacks Guy at night, but Prisca slashes him with a rusted knife, causing a fatal infection. As the night draws to a close, an elderly Guy and Prisca make amends before passing away moments apart.
