Power Book IV: Force Plot

Tommy Egan leaves New York behind and plans to take on Chicago, using his outsider status to break all the local rules and rewrite them on his quest to become the biggest drug dealer in the city.

The series is a sequel and third spin-off of Courtney A. Kemp’s Power.

Power Book IV: Force Narrative

Ghost and Tommy’s relationship was always at the center of Power. The series was built on this dynamic, with its push and pull, triumphs and defeats. It’s exciting to see Tommy be able to move forward and forge a new path away from the demons of his past now that Ghost is no longer present.

Tommy had been through a lot in his life, and that brief trip down memory lane as he was fleeing New York served as a stark reminder of everything that had happened to him. And a lot of it came from Tommy himself. He wasn’t an unwitting bystander caught up in tragic situation after tragic situation.

However, he found himself in a situation where returning to New York was no longer an option, and he had no ties to the city he’d always called home. Starting over in California was a wise decision for him; however, an unplanned stop in Chicago caused him to ponder what he really wanted out of life.
