Pretty Little Liars Plot

The show follows the lives of four teenage girls named Aria, Spencer, Hanna, and Emily, who are estranged friends.

The series is set in the suburban town of Rosewood, Pennsylvania, and follows the lives of five high school girls.

Pretty Little Liars Narrative

When their clique leader, Alison DiLaurentis, goes missing, Aria Montgomery, Emily Fields, Hanna Marin, and Spencer Hastings grow apart. A year later, they all start receiving messages from the enigmatic “A,” who threatens to reveal their darkest secrets. Aria has just returned from a year in Iceland with her family and is still unable to forgive her father, who cheated on her mother, who is still unaware of it; she also discovers that her new English teacher, Ezra Fitz, is the same guy she met the day before at a bar.

Hanna is now the “it” girl at school and engages in shoplifting, which gets her in trouble and forces her mother to sleep with a detective in exchange for her release; Spencer has feelings for her sister’s fiancé, Wren Kingston; and Emily befriends Maya, who recently moved into Alison’s old house. They soon suspect Alison is “A,” until her body is discovered.

With Jenna’s return to Rosewood and school, the girls are forced to confront an unpleasant incident from their past in which they, along with Alison, played a terrible prank on Jenna’s step-brother Toby that went horribly wrong, leaving Jenna blind. They thought this dark secret was forever sealed, but “A” will not let them forget it. Meanwhile, as the events of Alison’s disappearance continue to haunt them, questions about the night of her disappearance begin to emerge.
