Shameless Plot

Frank Gallagher is the patriarch of a Chicago working-class family. His six children suffer as a result of his heavy drinking, and Fiona, the eldest daughter, is responsible for everyone in the house.

The series depicts Frank Gallagher’s poor, dysfunctional family of six children: Fiona, Phillip, Ian, Debbie, Carl, and Liam.

Shameless Narrative

Alcoholic Frank Gallagher, a Chicagoan, is useless to his dysfunctional family. Fiona’s purse is stolen, but she is helped by a handsome stranger named Steve. Fiona goes on a date with Steve after he buys her a new Samsung washing machine to win her over, only to discover he’s a car thief. Lip has doubts about Ian’s sexuality and decides to take him to Karen Jackson to have them confirmed.

Fiona breaks up with Steve after he successfully smuggles Frank back home in an RV. Tony, a local cop who has harbored romantic feelings for Fiona since childhood, asks her out on a date. Frank is invited into the home of Karen’s agoraphobic and mentally ill mother, Sheila. Frank officially moves in with Sheila after a brief sexual liaison, much to Karen’s chagrin.

Debbie (Emma Kenney), who is depressed and lonely, steals a toddler from a birthday party. When the town goes into a frenzy over the boy’s disappearance, the family devises a plan to return the boy to his family while avoiding public and police attention. Eddie decides to re-locate with his family, citing financial concerns. Karen, still enraged at her father, tries to seduce Frank, but he rejects her.
