Snowpiercer Plot

This series is set more than seven years after the world has become a frozen wasteland, and it follows the survivors who live on a massive, perpetually moving train that circles the globe.

Snowpiercer is set in 2026, seven years after the world has been turned into a frozen wasteland, and follows the survivors of humanity who have taken refuge on a never-ending luxury train.

Snowpiercer Narrative

The last remaining humans are on board the train Snowpiercer, built by a mysterious Mr. Wilford, seven years after the world ended. Due to Andre Layton’s former profession as a homicide detective, passengers in the “tail end” plan a revolt due to constantly deteriorating conditions, while Melanie Cavill, the Voice of the Train, calls him to help solve a murder.

Layton is reunited with his ex-wife, who is one of the suspects, while attempting to negotiate better conditions for his class. The “Tailies” revolt after Old Ivan hangs himself, but are talked down by Layton, who agrees to assist in the investigation while secretly plotting to infiltrate the front of the train to better plan the next rebellion. Melanie takes over driving the train at the end of the day and is revealed to be Mr. Wilford.

The rebellion’s leaders are put into stasis, and a mother’s arm is frozen off as a punishment for the Tailies’ actions; Nikki is taken out of stasis, but has trouble waking up for some reason. Layton begins an investigation into the murder with the assistance of Till, theorizing that the train’s butchers have been cannibalizing the dead and serving them as food to the passengers.
