Suits Plot

Harvey Specter, one of New York’s best lawyers, hires Mike Ross, a talented young college dropout, as an associate. They must handle cases while keeping Mike’s credentials hidden.

Mike Ross, an expelled student, makes a living illegally taking the Law School Admission Test for others. He made the decision to start doing this in order to pay for his grandmother’s care. In the pilot episode, Mike agrees to deliver a case of marijuana for his best friend Trevor, a drug dealer, in exchange for a large sum of money.

Suits Narrative

Mike has been entrusted with the resolution of a major lawsuit. After Jessica reveals Mike’s secret, Harvey must decide whether or not to keep Mike on staff. Meanwhile, the firm’s co-founder Daniel Hardman (David Costabile) returns after a five-year absence, a self-described “changed man” after his wife’s death.

Mike confronts Rachel about the phone message she left him, while Jessica approaches Harvey for advice on Daniel Hardman’s impending return. Harvey approaches a senior partner, Paul Porter (Michael Cristofer), for help in a bankruptcy case in the hopes of gaining control of Porter’s department for Jessica. He eventually goes against Porter’s and Jessica’s wishes, enraging both, in order to win the case his way.

Harvey and Daniel start a feud while representing a hospital against nurse union head Nell (Margo Martindale), and Mike gets caught in the middle. When Jessica informs Louis that Pearson Hardman was ranked second-to-last in a survey of associates’ quality of life by a trade publication, he is assigned a Harvard Law consultant named Sheila (Rachael Harris), who appears to be Louis’ female equivalent.
