The Blacklist Plot

A wanted fugitive mysteriously surrenders to the FBI and offers to assist them in the capture of deadly criminals. His only stipulation is that he only work with the new profiler, Elizabeth Keen.

Raymond “Red” Reddington, a former United States Naval Intelligence officer who went missing twenty years earlier and became one of the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives, surrenders to FBI Assistant Director Harold Cooper at the J. Edgar Hoover Building in Washington, D.C.

The Blacklist Narrative

Wanted fugitive Raymond “Red” Reddington surrenders to the FBI and offers to assist them in locating terrorist Ranko Zamani on the condition that he only speak with new profiler Elizabeth Keen. Elizabeth picks up the daughter of General Daniel Ryker after learning that Zamani intends to kidnap her, only to have her convoy ambushed and the girl kidnapped. Zamani also breaks into Elizabeth’s home and stabs her husband Tom.

While Tom is recuperating, Zamani meets with Red and informs him of Tom’s injury, which Red appears to have ordered. The meeting is a set-up, and Agent Donald Ressler murders Zamani. Elizabeth realizes Zamani is planning to detonate a chemical bomb strapped to Ryker’s daughter. Elizabeth discovers the girl in a zoo, and Red dispatches an associate to deactivate the device. Red then reveals that he has intelligence to assist the FBI in locating unknown threats that he has compiled on a “blacklist” over the years.

Red informs Elizabeth of the location and time of an unknown terrorist attack. Following a train derailment at the site, Red and Elizabeth learn of the assassin’s next target: Floriana Campo, a humanitarian working to end sex slavery by cartel gangs.
