The Magicians Plot

When Quentin enrolls at Brakebills, a secret school for magicians, he discovers that the fantasy world he read about as a child is real and poses a threat to humanity.

Quentin Coldwater enrolls in Magical Pedagogy at Brakebills University to become a magician, where he discovers that the magical world from his favorite childhood book is real and poses a threat to humanity.

The Magicians Narrative

Quentin and Julia are invited to a test of their magical proficiency. Quentin passes and is accepted to Brakebills University. Julia fails the test and they strive to wipe her memory about Brakebills and the test, but she leaves herself a lead to remember. Refusing to accept that she can not learn magic, she’s thereafter reached by Pete, who offers to train her.

In his dreams, Quentin meets Jane Chatwin from the ” Fillory and More ” novels, who warns him about the Beast and leaves him with a sigil burned into his hand. Alice recognizes the sigil and sees it as an room to know how her lineage failed. She, Quentin, Penny and Kady try to reach her dead lineage, Charlie. Instead they accidentally summon the Beast who appears in the seminary the succeeding day, attacking a preceptor and the nestor.

Alice and Quentin find out that her lineage, Charlie, was consumed by magic and turned into a niffin five stretches ago. When they find him, he attacks Alice and Quentin. Quentin binds him, despite Alice’s belief that she can get through to him. Devastated about what cooked to her blood, Alice leaves Brakebills. Julia struggles to balance knowledge magic with maintaining her former life.
