The Mandalorian Plot

Following the Empire’s defeat at the hands of Rebel forces, a lone bounty hunter operating in the Outer Rim, far from the New Republic’s dominion, embarks on a series of surprising and dangerous adventures.

The Mandalorian follows Din Djarin, a lone Mandalorian bounty hunter in the galaxy’s outer reaches, five years after the events of Return of the Jedi (1983) and the fall of the Galactic Empire. He is hired by remnant Imperial forces to retrieve the infant Grogu, but instead flees to protect the child.

The Mandalorian Narrative

The Mandalorian delivers the child to the client on Nevarro and collects the bounty of 20 beskar steel bars. Unusually, the Mandalorian inquires about the client’s plans for the child and is informed that they are not his concern. When the armourer returns to the Mandalorian enclave, he replaces and upgrades the Mandalorian’s damaged armour and weapons with the majority of the beskar steel.

Karga offers the Mandalorian a new job, and he prepares to leave. He returns to the client’s base and kills the stormtroopers guarding it, feeling guilty for abandoning the child. He saves the child from Dr. Pershing’s laboratory, where it is being experimented on, but refuses to kill the doctor. The Mandalorian is ambushed on his way back to his ship by Karga and other bounty hunters who demand that he hand over the child. When he refuses, a firefight ensues.

He accepts the job in exchange for lodging and uses their credits to enlist the assistance of Dune. Omera, a widowed mother, houses them, and the Mandalorian tells her that no one has seen him without his helmet since his tribe took him in as an orphan. The Mandalorian and Dune assist the villagers in driving the raiders away and destroying an old Imperial AT-ST used by the raiders.
