The Witcher Plot
Geralt of Rivia, a mutated monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people are frequently more evil than beasts.
The first season of the show follows Geralt of Rivia, Crown Princess Ciri, and the sorceress Yennefer of Vengerberg at various points in time, exploring formative events that shaped their characters before eventually merging into a single timeline culminating in the battle for Sodden Hill against the Nilfgaard invaders.
The Witcher Narrative
Geralt and Jaskier discover a Djinn and unintentionally release it in 1256, seven years after Pavetta’s betrothal. Jaskier appears to be the Djinn’s’master’ at first, but he becomes gravely ill. Geralt approaches the nearest healer, the elf Chireadan, for assistance, but because they require a mage to heal Jaskier, Chireadan reluctantly refers them to Yennefer. Despite the fact that Yennefer heals Jaskier, her plan is to use him to capture the Djinn and force it to grant her wish of regaining fertility.
When Jaskier uses his final wish, nothing happens, and it is revealed that Geralt, not Jaskier, is the one who has obtained the wishes. Geralt realizes the Djinn will kill Yennefer, so he grants her his third and final wish. The Djinn departs. Geralt and Yennefer have sex now that they are free and safe. Yennefer inquires about Geralt’s third wish, but he falls asleep without responding.
Borch and his two bodyguards Téa and Véa invite Geralt, Jaskier, and Yennefer to join them on a dragon hunt in 1262. Yennefer’s knight, as well as a band of dwarves and Reavers, professional monster hunters, join the party. The party awakens to find the knight dead and the Reavers gone after camping overnight. The dwarves lead their party to a mountain bypass, but the bridge collapses.
