Man of Steel Plot

When Clark enters a Kryptonian ship in the Arctic, he discovers the source of his abilities and his true home. However, an old foe tracks him down to Earth in search of a codex and brings destruction with him.

Clark Kent discovers in the film that he is a superpowered alien from the planet Krypton. As Superman, he takes on the role of humanity’s protector, making the decision to confront General Zod and prevent him from destroying humanity.

Man of Steel Narrative

The planet Krypton has been destabilized due to the mining of the planet’s core. Just before the planet explodes, Jor-El, Krypton’s supreme council chief advisor, infuses the genetics codex into his infant son, Kal-El, the first naturally born Kryptonian child in centuries. Before being killed by General Zod during an uprising, Jor-El is able to send Kal-El into space.

Jonathan and Martha Kent name Kal-El Clark when he arrives in Kansas. He develops superhuman abilities as he grows older, which Jonathan advises him to keep hidden, even refusing Clark’s help years later during a tornado incident in which he dies. Clark, who is haunted by his guilt over Jonathan’s death, travels the world under various aliases in search of meaning.

Lois Lane, a reporter for the Daily Planet, is tasked with looking into the discovery of a Kryptonian scout ship in the Canadian Arctic. Clark enters the ship disguised as a worker and learns from the AI, which is based on his father Jor-El, that he was sent to Earth to help the people. While following Clark, Lois inadvertently activates the ship’s security system, and Clark uses his powers to rescue Lois from the ship’s defenses.
