Red Notice Plot

An Interpol agent attempts to track down and apprehend the world’s most wanted art thief in the world of international crime.

Marcus Antonius gave Cleopatra three bejeweled eggs as a wedding gift two thousand years ago, symbolizing his devotion. The eggs were lost to time until two were discovered by a farmer in 1907, but the last one is still missing.

Red Notice Narrative

In 2021, Special Agent John Hartley, an FBI criminal profiler, is assigned to assist Interpol agent Urvashi Das in investigating the potential theft of one of the eggs kept on display at the Museo Nazionale di Castel Sant’Angelo in Rome after learning that there may be a plan to steal it and that it may have already been stolen. After they arrive, the head of security dismisses their concerns, and the egg appears to be still there, but Hartley determines that the egg on display is a forgery, and the real egg has been stolen, so Das has the room locked down.

However, before the room can be sealed shut, international art thief Nolan Booth escapes, pursued by Hartley. Booth eventually escapes to his home in Bali with the egg, only to find Hartley, Das, and an Interpol strike team waiting for him. They apprehend Booth and seize the egg.

They are brought to Black shortly after their arrival, where she proposes to Booth that they work together to find the third egg, revealing to Hartley that he does, in fact, know where it is. Booth declines her modest offer, and she departs, promising to find the second egg; when she does, she warns him that his share will be reduced. Hartley suggests that he and Booth collaborate to defeat Black. If Booth assists him in imprisoning Black, she will surpass her as the world’s leading art thief.
