Shazam Plot

Billy is constantly searching for his mother after being abandoned at a fair. When he inherits the superpowers of a powerful wizard, however, his life takes a dramatic turn.

The film follows adolescent Billy Batson (Angel) as he is chosen as the new champion of the ancient wizard Shazam (Hounsou) by saying the word “Shazam,” which transforms him into an adult superhero (Levi) with various superpowers.

Shazam Narrative

Thaddeus Sivana is riding in a car with his father and brother in upstate New York during a snowstorm in 1974 when he is abruptly transported to the Rock of Eternity, a magical temple in another dimension. After the previous champion unleashed the Seven Deadly Sins, which killed the rest of the Council of Wizards, the ancient wizard Shazam has spent centuries searching for someone pure of heart on whom to bestow his power and name as champion.

Thaddeus is tempted by the Eye of Sin, which allows him to hear the voices of the Sins, who are trapped in stone statues and promise him power if he can free them. Thaddeus’ abusive father and brother refuse to believe his story, and his father’s verbal abuse and inattentiveness leads to an accident, leaving his father paralyzed from the waist down, with his brother and him blaming Thaddeus. He receives a message from the Sins via an 8-Ball toy, instructing him to locate them.

Billy Batson, a 14-year-old foster child in modern-day Philadelphia, is constantly running away from foster homes in search of his birth mother, from whom he was separated ten years ago while at a carnival. He barricades some cops in a store and uses their computers to look for his mother, but he is unsuccessful. He is placed with five other foster children in a group home run by Vctor and Rosa Vásquez.
