The Cellar Plot

Keira Woods’ daughter mysteriously vanishes in the cellar of their new home. She soon discovers that an ancient and powerful entity is controlling their home, which she must confront or risk losing her family’s souls forever.

The Cellar Narrative

Keira (Elisha Cuthbert) and Brian (Eoin Macken) are marketing executives who have recently purchased a remote mansion at auction, excited to start a new life with their children, teen Ellie (Abby Fitz) and young Steve (Dylan Fitzmaurice Brady). Ellie dislikes the change because it takes her away from her friends and her adolescent life, and she is put in charge of her younger brother on the first night in the new place.

When the power goes out, Ellie is forced to enter the cellar, a foreboding place she is terrified of. She soon vanishes without a trace, leaving Kiera filled with guilt and unable to cope with such a terrible loss. When the mother examines the house, she notices various symbols and numbers around the cellar, which leads to a written equation she can’t immediately solve.

“The Cellar” doesn’t make an immediate impression, overseeing the family’s move into their new home, with Brian and Steve more excited about exploring the property. Ellie isn’t having any of it, playing up her adolescent snobbishness, refusing to join her mother’s enthusiasm for the life change, and dragging her feet every step of the way.
