The King’s Man Plot

One man must race against the clock to prevent history’s worst tyrants and criminal masterminds from plotting a war that could wipe out millions of people and destroy humanity.

The film is set during World War I and the birth of the Kingsman organization.

The King’s Man Narrative

While working for the Red Cross, British aristocrat Orlando, Duke of Oxford, his wife Emily, and their young son Conrad visit a concentration camp in South Africa during the Second Boer War in 1902. Emily is killed during a Boer sniper attack on the camp, prompting pacifist Orlando to conclude that the world requires someone to prevent such conflicts from occurring.

Twelve years later, Orlando has enlisted the help of two of his servants, Shola and Polly, in his spy network dedicated to protecting the United Kingdom and the British Empire from the looming Great War. Conrad, eager to fight, is forbidden from joining the army by the protective Orlando, who convinces Lord Kitchener, Secretary of State for War, not to allow him to join.

Conrad and Orlando ride through Sarajevo with Orlando’s friend Archduke Franz Ferdinand, and Conrad saves the Archduke from a bomb thrown by Gavrilo Princip, a rebel intent on starting a war, at Kitchener’s request. However, Princip later encounters the Archduke’s entourage again, this time fatally shooting the Archduke and his wife Sophie.
