The Lost City Plot

A reclusive romance novelist on a book tour with her cover model becomes entangled in a kidnapping attempt, landing them both in a bloody jungle adventure.

Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum star as a novelist and her cover model, respectively, who must flee a billionaire (Daniel Radcliffe) and discover the lost ancient city depicted in one of her books.

The Lost City Narrative

Loretta Sage is a reclusive middle-aged author who writes romance-adventure novels about Dash McMahon, a fictional hero portrayed by cover model Alan Caprison. Beth Hatten, her publicist, insists that she go on a book tour with Alan to promote her latest work.

Loretta is kidnapped by Abigail Fairfax, a billionaire who realizes Loretta’s books are based on actual historical research she did with her late archaeologist husband, after a disastrous start, mostly due to the popularity of Alan’s Dash persona. He has discovered a lost city on a remote Atlantic island and is convinced that it is the location of the priceless “Crown of Fire.”

Alan, who has a secret crush on Loretta, witnesses her kidnapping. He hires Jack Trainer, a former Navy SEAL turned CIA agent, to meet him on the island and coordinate a rescue mission. Jack breaks into Fairfax’s compound and frees Loretta, but is shot in the head before they reach the airport, forcing Loretta and Alan to flee into the jungle.
