The Matrix Resurrections Plot

Return to a world where there are two realities: everyday life and what lies behind it. Mr. Anderson will have to choose to follow the white rabbit once more in order to discover if his reality is a construct and to truly know himself.

Rumors of a fourth Matrix film date back to at least 2011. Keanu Reeves was said to have met with the Wachowskis and read their treatment for a fourth and fifth Matrix film. However, the rumor was later debunked.

The Matrix Resurrections Narrative

Anderson is taken to see Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne), who gives him the option of taking the blue or red pills. The blue pill causes forgetfulness and serenity, while the red pill dispels illusions and places Anderson in a liquid-filled pod to awaken. He is rescued from the energy harvesting fields and transported aboard the Nebuchadnezzar, Morpheus’ plane (a biblical reference to the “Book of Daniel”).

The real world of humanity is a struggle between free humans and intelligent machines. Following the destruction of the solar power source from which the machines drew their energy, the machines captured and bred humans as a source of energy. To pacify the human energy sources held captive in liquid-filled pods and plugged into an energy generator, the machines provide a simulated reality circa 1999.

Neo, according to Morpheus, is the Chosen One, the One who will save humanity. In “The Matrix,” Neo begins to believe that he is the One, and Trinity and Neo fall in love. All of the main characters have sought advice from the Oracle (Gloria Foster). According to the Oracle, Trinity would fall in love with the One, and Neo would learn everything he needed to know. The Oracle, on the other hand, makes no mention of the crew of the Nebuchadnezzar being betrayed from within.
