Thor Plot

Thor is exiled to Earth by his father, Odin, King of Asgard, to live among mortals. When he arrives on Earth, S.H.I.E.L.D. discovers and captures his trusted weapon Mjolnir.

Thor is banished from Asgard to Earth after reigniting a dormant war, stripped of his powers and his hammer Mjölnir. He must prove himself worthy as his brother Loki plots to usurp the Asgardian throne.

Thor Narrative

Odin, King of Asgard, declares war on the Frost Giants of Jotunheim and their leader Laufey in 965 AD to prevent them from conquering the Nine Realms, beginning with Earth. The Asgardian warriors defeat the Frost Giants in Tnsberg, Norway, and seize the Casket of Ancient Winters, the source of their power.

In the present, Odin’s son Thor prepares to ascend to the throne of Asgard, but his plans are thwarted when Frost Giants, secretly permitted entry by his brother Loki, attempt to retrieve the Casket. In defiance of Odin’s orders, Thor travels to Jotunheim to confront Laufey, accompanied by Loki, childhood friend Sif, and the Warriors Three: Volstagg, Fandral, and Hogun.

There is a battle until Odin intervenes to save the Asgardians, destroying the fragile truce between the two races. Odin deprives Thor of his godly power and exiles him to Earth as a mortal, accompanied by his hammer Mjölnir, which is now protected by an enchantment that allows only the worthy to wield it.
