Venom: Let There Be Carnage Plot

Eddie Brock continues to struggle with coexisting with the shape-shifting extraterrestrial Venom. When Cletus Kasady, a deranged serial killer, becomes host to an alien symbiote, Brock and Venom must put aside their differences to put an end to his reign of terror.

It is the second film in Sony Pictures Releasing’s Spider-Man Universe and the sequel to Venom (2018).

Venom: Let There Be Carnage Narrative

In 1996, a young Cletus Kasady stands helpless as his love, Frances Barrison, who has the ability to manipulate sound, is removed from the St. Estes Home for Unwanted Children and transferred to the Ravencroft Institute. She escapes using her sonic scream powers and attacks young police officer Patrick Mulligan on the way. He shoots Barrison in the eye and injures his ear as a result of her scream.

Mulligan, now a detective, contacts Eddie Brock to speak with Kasady, a serial killer who refuses to speak to anyone other than Brock after their interview a year ago. Following the visit, Eddie’s symbiote, Venom, is able to figure out where Kasady has hidden the bodies of victims, giving Brock a significant career boost. Brock is then contacted by his ex-fiancée Anne Weying, who informs him that she has become engaged to Dr. Dan Lewis, much to Venom’s chagrin.

Kasady, who was found guilty of his crimes and sentenced to death by lethal injection, invites Brock to his execution at San Quentin State Prison, where Kasady is detained on death row. However, Venom is provoked to attack Kasady by Brock’s insults. Kasady bites Brock’s hand and consumes a small portion of the symbiote. Back at home, Venom has an argument with Brock about having more freedom to eat criminals, and the two end up fighting until the symbiote detaches from his body; they part ways.
